OCIA

St. Mary of the Angels OCIA (Ordo of Christian Initiation of Adults) is for anyone who wants to know more about what the Catholic Church believes and teaches. We welcome:

• Non-baptized persons who want to become more familiar with Christianity;
• Non-Catholic Christians who wish to learn more about what it means to be a
• Catholic Christian, and
• • A refresher course to invigorate their faith;
  • To receive sacraments never received, particularly First Communion, baptized Catholics who would like:
  • Confession(Reconciliation), and Confirmation.

Participants will be prepared—should they choose—to be baptized, make a profession of faith, receive Confirmation and celebrate the Eucharist at the Easter Vigil Mass (the Saturday before Easter). Those who attend the OCIA classes are under no obligation to complete the course or commit to entering the Catholic Church. They will have an opportunity to meet others who are actively seeking the Church as well as the OCIA team who will help and instruct them on their journey to understand more deeply the Catholic faith. The OCIA program meets MONDAYS during the school year, BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 9th, and ending on May 18th in the Museum Room at 7:00 pm.
